I carry loyalty cards whenever I go out to shop or go to the stores. It is kind of hassle to bring them all but these loyalty cards save me money when I go to their stores. Anyhow, I was glad to know about Cupertino-based Mobeam Nümi Loyalty Keychain. I know for the fact that I could easily lose these cards. I think Nümi Keychain is the answer to this problem. It only costs $34.95 at amazon.com. This device or gadget can hold about 50 different barcodes. When you go to the store, you just give this gadget to the check out or cashier and they will scan the barcode for you. And then, you press the red button in the center. This is only good if the store uses a laser checkout scanner. But I think most well-known stores use laser checkout scanner. To add loyalty cards to, just connect it through USB to a Windows computer or pc and then visit myloyaltycards.com. That site allows you to choose the retailer and enter the membership card number. And you can find 55 retailers at that site. The only negative aspect about Nümi Key is you can only use Windows pc. It is because of configuration website using ActiveX and Interner Explorer in order to hook up to the device. Anyhow, Mobeam is planning on catering services to Mac users later.

What do you normally do on Holy week? People go to the beach, hang out with friends, do nothing, take vacation or repent and pray. So, what do you do on Holy week? Holy week is the time of the year where Christians venerate and remember the suffering, crucifixion, and death of Jesus Christ. Holy week ends on Easter Sunday. Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. Typically, the most well-attended Sunday service of the year for Christian churches. I noticed a lot of people at our church last year on Easter Sunday. All Jesus paid the penalty for sin all the way through His suffering, death and resurrection. He saved us all and gave us eternal life in Him.

Have you seen Avatar movie in Imax 3D? I just thought of this movie today. I watched this movie on the first weekend it was shown at the theaters. I was not really excited at first because the trailer was not really impressive. But my husband was excited to see it. So we went to AMC and watched it in 3D. I thought the 3D glasses would make me dizzy and nauseous. I was surprised it didn’t. You know what that movie really impressed me.  Like I said in my previous post, the story similar to the Castle In The Sky and Dances with Wolves.  But I loved Avatar! For me, it is the best movie of the year 2009. And you know what Avatar is now the highest grossing film of 2009 and is the second to the $1.8 billion taken in by “Titanic” in box-office sales of all time. It may soon overtake Titanic to become highest grossing film ever! Wohoo! I could hardly wait  for the DVD. I am super excited to own one.

Carbohydrates

There are bad carbohydrates and good carbohydrates. Don’t you know that? People who are into “diet” or “losing weight” tend to avoid carbs in general. But they don’t know how to distinguish bad carbohydrates from good ones. Let us define Carbohydrates first. Carbs are combination of starches, sugar and fiber that provide the body with fuel it needs for physical activity by breaking down into glucose. Glucose is a type of sugar that our cells use it as source for daily activities. People eat good carbohydrates are less likely to accumulate body fat. Now, what are bad carbs and good carbs?

Bad carbs are foods that have been processed such as flour, refined sugar, and white rice. You can digest these carbs faster but they can cause rise in sugar that cause to weight gain. Since this year started, I eat brown rice a lot. I have white rice in some occasions. White rice is not good for us.

Good carbs can be found whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables, which also offer lots of additional health benefits, including heart disease and cancer prevention. They can’t be digested as easily. And it keeps your sugar and insulin levels on balance.

Teeth grinding

Do you grind your teeth when you are asleep? I grind my teeth in sleep, which I am not aware of. My husband told me about it. It is kinda funny – my husband snores while I grind my teeth. So, I guess, we are both noisy at night. Anyhow, I noticed my jaws hurt the next day. I don’t like the feeling.

Do you grind your teeth at night too? According to Wikipedia, “Teeth grinding or Bruxism is a condition, which is caused by the reflex chewing activity, which controlled by higher control in the brain. During sleep the reflex part is active, while the higher control is inactive, resulting in bruxism.” So, it just occurs during sleep.

It is believed that it is caused by abnormal bite, or abnormal alignment of teeth, stress, anxiety, anger, or frustration. I wanted to get a night guard or any program that could help me with this problem. Teeth grinding, however, can cause serious complications such as deafness, backache, reduce ability to open and and close the mouth, difficulty in chewing, jaw pain, face pain or headache. Now, I am pretty happy to have a night guard. I don’t feel any pain on my jaw or face anymore when I wake up in the morning.

Things to minimize or prevent teeth grinding:

  • Avoid chewing gums
  • Avoid eating hard food
  • Reduce stress
  • Maintain good posture
  • Sleep on your back
  • Avoid caffeinated drinks
