Since I moved here in California, I missed my old friends so much. We still talk and write some emails or letters to each other. In fact, I just talked to them last week. We reminisced and recalled all the fun things we did together. We used to go to the beach, hang out in the park, play bingo in carnivals, etc. I remember the first time I played bingo, I was so nervous and excited. My heart was pounding so fast because I wanted to win the game. But, I never win (haha). One of my friends still plays bingo, but online. And she loves it. She told me how exciting it is. She plays online bingo for money. So, I tried and I actually liked it! I can play online bingo whenever I want to. Now, I play bingo online during my leisure time or whenever I am bored. It’s really fun.

Disney just recently announced a new princess. Disney princesses have become role models to most kids. Disney announced, Sofia, the First. It’s an animated movie as well as a TV series. When I was a kid I was so fond of watching Fairy tales. My most favorite fairy tale story is Cinderella. Anyhow, Sofia is expected to hit the theater in the Fall of the year 2012. To be honest, I’m kinda excited about it. I am going to check this out at the theater next year.

no more dvds

We trying not to collect dvds anymore. We have disks that’s over 200. Just imagine how much we spent on those dvds. And the sad thing about it is we hardly watch them. In fact, we have to sell some of them. Well, we learn from the past. Think about it, dvds cost about 5-20 a piece. If every dvd is ten bucks multiply by 200. That is two thousand dollars. Wow, that’s a lot of money. Now, we just rent movies or watch movies at Netflix. And for Netflix, we pay $8 a month and we get to watch as many movies as we want. Isn’t it a good deal? We are able to save money and space at home. You know dvds take up a lot of space. You have to put them in rack or shelf. It’s time to be practical.

What is the Vegetable Orchestra? Vegetable Orchestra was founded in 1998 in Vienna. It consists of eleven musicians, one cook and one sound technician. They musical instruments made out of vegetables. Their music represents electronic music, jazz, and sounds produced by the vegetables. I was amazed at the first time I saw this video. They are talented and creative as well. The Orchestra plays concerts in Europe and Asia. Oh, I don’t know if they are vegetarians or vegan! Check out the video below:

I love watching tv. Who is not into watching tv? Let me know. Actually, I don’t know anybody who doesn’t like watching tv, so far. You know, people watch tv for relaxation and entertainment, of course. However, it’s more fun and entertaining when you have many channels and high definition in your tv. In other words, it is great to have inexpensive digital channels with Direct TV. I can say that Direct TV is awesome because it offers affordable digital channels at the comforts of your home.

Bossa Nova

Right now, I am enjoying the swaying stream of a Bossa Nova music. It is a Brazilian type of music. I like Brazilian music despite I can’t understand nor speak Portuguese. I just don’t care about the lyrics when it comes to boss nova music, I really love the beat and the harmony. There are many boss nova songs translated in English so that works out with me (haha). The bossa nova style of music was popularized by the famous musicians Joao Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim in 1950’s. Some of you may have heard about them. The first time I heard the song called ” The from Ipanema” by Astrud Gilberto. I thought it was an Italian song. At that time, I just couldn’t identify what it was. I didn’t know any Portuguese and boss nova back then.

The bossa nova music derives from samba beat and is highly influenced by jazz. It is more commonly played on guitar and piano and sometimes with accompaniments of orchestra. And its rhythm always sways. The most popular boss nova was “The of Ipanema” which was sung by Astrud Gilberto and performed by the famous Antonio Carlos Jobim. It was also sung by Peggy Lee, which the title was changed to “The boy from Ipanema”. I also like the song “Desafinado” which means “slightly out of tune” by Antonio Carlos Jobim and also popularized by Frank Sinatra in his own English version.

Indeed Bossa nova speaks with love and a bohemian life. Until now, it is still popular around the world.

Walmart will reduce sodium and sugar contents in their storebrand products

Walmart, one of the country’s largest grocery stores will reformulate thousands of store-brand products to reduce sodium and sugar. They will also push their suppliers to do the same thing. Walmart also promises to reduce prices on produce and build stores in poor areas that don’t already have grocery stores. The said plan is to reduce sodium by a quarter and cut added sugars in some of its store-brand products by 2015. It also plans to remove remaining industrially produced trans fats and develop a logo for products that meet its criteria for health. Walmart plans to concentrate on products like luncheon meats, fruit juices and salad dressings that are high in sugar or sodium. Actually, this is good news, as I want to live and eat healthier.
