It was a long day

Yesterday was a long day for me. We went to the church in the morning and then after that I accompanied my stepson to the gym to meet up his personal trainer. Since my husband wanted to get some movies at Blockbuster, so we got “KungFu Panda”. Then, we walked to the park. It was a good 20-minute walk. We stayed at the park for a while. I was surprised to see my little boy got scared of the swing. He used to like it a lot. I guess, he’s starting to discover danger or something like that. We had fun. My little boy picked the flowers on the ground. Flowers are at their best in spring.

After the park, we got pizza, ice cream and subway sandwich. It was along day for me to the extent that I felt so lazy to wash the dishes last night. I just left them on the sink. I was glad that there weren’t any ants on the sink in the morning. It surprised me. We have ants at home every now and then. If I live some food, like fruits, candy or chocolates on the sink or counter, ants would right away get in there.

Do ants smell food? Actually, they do. They use antennae for smelling. Speaking of chocolates – I’m kind of craving for chocolates. Every time I go to the counter, I see these chocolates laying on the shelves. I get so tempted to get some.

Excited and motivated

I was pretty bummed out when I learned that I missed the two-hour free personal training session at the gym. Well, it’s half my fault and their fault because they didn’t let me know nor inform me that I have 30 days to do it. My membership started last December and since it’s a busy month, I didn’t go to the gym. Anyhow, I want to go with my stepson to the gym this Sunday for his personal training sessions. I have to accompany him since he’s just 12 years old. Hopefully, I could get something from it. I’m excited to go the gym now that I’m also motivated to get rid of my flabby belly. My belly is not so bad. I just have this extra belly from my previous pregnancy. As I lose weight, my belly gets more flabby.

6 years and counting….

Today marks the day of our anniversary of our marriage. We are in the 6th year of our marriage and we are counting more and more years…. I can say that our marriage is not perfect but wereally get a long very well. We shared the same interests, values, beliefs and goals. Tonight, I’m going to make a special and simple dinner. I’m going to Sprouts Farmers Market later to get some pasta and vegetables. I was thinking of making pesto sauce or just buy that’s already made but I kind of hesitant to do it. It’s because it might not taste good. I had the best pesto sauce that my mother in-law made. Now, I’m so picky when it comes pesto sauce. Since we don’t drink wine, I’m just going to get some apple cider. This plan sounds really good to me. We cannot really go out to dinner because we have a toddler and nobody is going to be able to babysit him. Well, I don’t really mind celebrating our anniversary at home.

Contemporary furniture

I believe every home needs furniture. It’s  simply because it brings fashion and cozy ambiance. It also adds character and sophistication to your home. As soon as your visitors enter your house they will notice your furniture. However, the style and quality of the furniture you have gives good better impression. Looking for furniture can be an intimidating to do based on my experience. It took me time to finally decided on what furniture I would get. Finally, I decided on getting contemporary furniture.

In fact, I want to get a modern sofa bed for living room. It’s nice to have extra bed for visitors. Anyhow, I’ve looked up some contemporary sofa beds at gomodern.co.uk. They all look incredibly beautiful. I compared the prices and read some reviews online too. I thought about checking out their showroom locations to personally see the furniture.

Homemade potato chips

"Potato chips"

My stepson always asks me if I could make him potato chips. Finally, I made him some the other day. He really liked it. He jokingly told me that I should open a restaurant and sell some potato chips. lol Anyhow, the process of making home made potato chips is very easy. You will need the following:

Russet potatoes
canola oil or vegetable oil
salt

Directions:

Cut potatoes thinly.
Rinse with water until the water becomes clear. This is to get rid of too much starch found in potatoes.
Soak them in water with salt.
Fry them until golden brown.
Serve with salt
