Trollstigen

June 16, 2010 · Posted in travel

The mountain pass is located in southwest Norway. It was opened in 1936 after eight years of construction. It is called as “Troll Ladder.” The Stigfossen waterfall that runs down the side of the mountain accents the scenic road. A small bridge crosses it on the way toward the road’s apex. Sections of the pass were cut directly into the face of the mountain during the 1930s. The pass tends to open in late May and sometimes closes through June because of the region’s harsh winters.
