simple ways to clean dirty CDs and DVDs

January 15, 2009 · Posted in Entertainment, Home, Personal

Yesterday, we rented a movie from a video rental store, the DVD was dirty. It is not uncommon to see some dirty DVDs from rental stores. Well, I have no choice but to clean it up. Cleaning CDs and DVDs should be done with a cleaning kit. But since I don’t have a kit, I just used a normal clean cotton cloth. I wiped it against the tracks, starting from the middle of the CD or DVD and wiping towards the outer side. I never wipe with the tracks. If you do it, it gives more scratches on the disc. I also use water when cleaning a CD. And a pure alcohol to clean if the substance on a CD is hard to remove with water.
