Thriller
I was looking for the video “Thriller” by Michael Jackson at Youtube but I can’t get the code – embedding is not allowed. As I browsed some Thriller videos, I found an Indian Thriller version, which is so hilarious. I always think Thriller video was one of the best videos I’ve ever seen. That’s why I thought of posting here it because it goes with Halloween. Unfortunately, I can’t get the code. So, I decided on posting the Indian Thriller instead. Happy Halloween… Awwwoooooooo!
Pumpkins for Halloween

I noticed today’s Google’s homepage is very cute. I like its mystical design. I was just wondering why Halloween is signified by Pumpkins, why not some other vegetables. Is it because we can carve different faces in pumpkins? So, I researched about it and here’s what I got:
Halloween Pumpkins originated from the Celts in Europe long time ago. They would carry a lantern when they walked on the eve of October 31. These lanterns were carved out of big turnips and the lights were believed to keep the evil spirits away. The children would carve faces in the turnips in which they called it “jack-o-lanterns. And when the early settlers came to America they found the big round orange pumpkin. And they thought it is much bigger and colorful than turnips, so they made great “jack-o-lanterns” out of pumpkins, which eventually replaced the turnip. And now, we have pumpkins for Halloween.
As the settlers spread across America they took their Halloween celebrations with them. The custom of the “jack-o-lantern” would travel with them. Eventually the Pumpkin would become the most widely recognized symbol of the Halloween holiday.
Candies for trick or treat
I went to the store to get some candies for “trick or treat”. I got a “kids play mix bag” of candies. It contains a variety of candies such as smarties, sweetarts, jawbreakers, spout bubble gum, dubble bubble, atomic fireball, tootsie roll, lollipop and a lot more. I just got one pack, which I think it would be enough. Now, I am almost out of candies. I have ten left and it’s not even 7pm yet. Well, I think I am just going to turn off the light outside so kids won’t knock on the door for trick or treat. I called my friend a while ago. She lives in Washington State; she doesn’t have any candy for trick or treat. It was funny how she said that she’s just going give the kids “Halls candy” because that’s all she got. Hehe I thought it was hilarious. Anyhow, ten kids ambushed me a while ago and now, I am almost out of candies. It was fun. I saw their bags filled with candies. It was fun to see them carrying big load of candies. I wonder if they’re going to eat them all. They should think about cavities. Well, happy trick or treating everyone!
Happy Hallloween!

Happy Halloween to all of you, guys!
Are you ready for a party tonight? I am really going anywhere. But I am kind of excited to see some people wearing different Halloween costumes. And also some Halloween pumpkins. We are going to carve some pumpkins tonight and put them on our porch. It will be fun tonight!
Are you ready for trick or treat?
Halloween is just a few days away. Are you ready for “trick or treating”? Well, how did this “trick or treat” get started?
It originated when the Catholic church approved the act of “souling” in Middle Ages. At that time the beggars could go around asking for food in exchange for prayers. The Catholic church said the prayers were an extra bit of “insurance” that a dead person’s spirit would be given entry into heaven.
It is also believed to be originated from he Europe’s Celtic people celebrated their New Year’s Day on November 1, called Samhain (SAH-win). The night before Samhain, people thought spirits, Fairies, demons, and other creatures were to walk the Earth as they traveled to the afterlife. They sacrificed animals to the gods by gathering around bonfires. And they wore animal skin costumes and wearing masks to confuse spirits, perhaps to avoid being possessed. Moreover, the Celts costumed as spirits are believed to have gone from house to house engaging in silly acts in exchange for food and drink.
I always I enjoy watching kids wearing scary costumes and doing trick or treat. Basically, they just want candies. Opps, I don’t have candies yet. I better get some…
