Microsoft and Mozilla put more privacy tools in their Browsers
Microsoft puts privacy tools in IE8. The new privacy tools in Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) called “porn mode” is the most intriguing tool today and is InPrivate Browsing by Microsoft. When this mode is enabled, IE8 will not save browsing and searching history, cookies, form data and passwords, thus, it will automatically clear the browser cache. This feature is scheduled to appear in sometime this month. I wonder when they are going to release it. This month is about to end very soon.
Furthermore, the other new tools are InPrivate Blocking and InPrivate Subscription. This simply informs users of third-party content that can track browsing history and subscribe to lists of sites to block, respectively. Microsoft will pull its existing “Delete Browsing History” by adding an option to preserve bookmarked sites’ cookies even when all others are erased.
Microsoft is concerned about user’s on the net from spouses, friends, kids, relatives or maybe co-workers \. However, Mozilla’s Mike Beltzner said that “To lock everyone into a ‘porn bucket’ makes people who have alternate privacy needs think that they’re doing something wrong.”
On the other hand, Mozilla is going to add a new tool called “private browsing”, which will be added in Firefox 3.1. It is believed to be released later this year or in early 2009. Mozilla’s ultimate objective to present more than a privacy mode that users must switch on before the browser begins to cover their tracks. “We want users to not only be able to enter [a private browsing session], but tell the browser that they want to delete all evidence starting a couple of hours ago,” said Beltzner.
Well, personally, I don’t necessarily need to use those features because I don’t browse any bad sites such as porn sites at all. But, I guess, this will work for those who are really concerned about their privacy. If you share the same computer with your siblings, friends, relatives, etc., then this feature will work out with you. Let’s see what going to happen and how simple they are to apply.
Let’s talk about gasoline
Well, I am happy to see that gas prices have dropped 15 cents a gallon in the last few weeks. We have two vehicles. My husband drives our Toyota corolla to work as it is a fuel economy car and I drive our Toyota pick-up truck, as I don’t often go far. The 15 cents drop is really a big help. I wish it would go down more and go back to $1 something a gallon. I remember when I went to Primm, Nevada two years ago, I was laughing at the price of gas in one of the gasoline stations there (which I actually forgot the name); the regular gas price was $4.25. I thought it was a rip off. At that time, I did not think that would actually happen in the coming years. I found some very helpful ideas, which will help us save us money on gas and would like to share here to everyone!
- Buy gasoline during coolest time of day. Early morning or late evening is best. During these times gasoline is thicker. Take into account that gas pumps measure volumes of gasoline, not densities of fuel concentration.
Don’t refill your tank until the last quarter tank or wait until you are almost out. By doing this gives you the opportunity to buy more gas. However, in cold weather, you run an increased risk of condensation in the fuel tank. Running a car with less than a quarter tank can shorten the life of the electric fuel pump and running on empty will often destroy the pump because it is forced to run constantly trying to pressurize fuel since it often has access to only air. And plus, it is risky—as you don’t know when you might be in emergency crisis.
Fill up your gas tank all the way. Do it all at once to save time and money.
You should park your car in the shade. Gasoline actually evaporates right out of your tank especially when you park your car directly in the sun. However, parking in the shade keeps it cooler inside. In the case that there is no shade available at all, park your car facing away from the direct sun.
The new PSP Portable (PSP-3000)

There will be a new release of PlayStation Portable in October. Sony is proud to launch the new PSP-3000 with high-resolution screen and a built-in microphone that enables it to make telephone calls through the Skype service. It will be available in Japan, Asia, North America and Europe. It basically has the same design of the current PSP Slim and Lite. And it also comes in three colours — black, white and silver. The new PSP will be available at a price of $199.99 (that’s basically $200) in North America. However, Sony aspires to sell 15 million PSPs worldwide. It sounds like Sony is seriously competing with Nintendo.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Full-time Bloggers should know about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist, leading to pain and muscle weakness in the forearm and hand. This condition is very common to typist, secretaries, stenographers, cashiers, tellers and of course, bloggers. The median nerve controls sensations to the palm side of the thumb and finger. The carpal tunnel is a narrow, rigid tube of ligament and bones at the base of the hand that holds the median nerve and tendons. What are the symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
- Frequent burning, tingling, and itching numbness of the palm of the hand the fingers especially, the thumb, index, and middle fingers.
- Symptoms would usually first appear in one or both hands during the night, since many people flexed their wrists when they are sleeping. A person with this syndrome would wake up with the feeling need to shake out the hand and wrist.
- Difficulty in gripping and making a fist, dropping objects, and weakness. They are the symptoms of progression.
Carpal Tunnel Sydrome is due to repetitive motion.
How can you prevent it?
You can prevent carpal tunnel syndrome is to take breaks from repetitive movement or motion such as computer keyboard usage especially for bloggers, for cashiers– hit the keys slowly… Give your hands and wrists a break for 15 to 20 minutes. Avoid bending your wrist all the way up or down.
But CTS is different from Writer’s Cramp, a condition in which lack of fine motor skill coordination and ache and pressure in the fingers, wrist, or forearm is brought on by repetitive activity. Sometimes, I get a weird thought that I have CTS because my hands get really tired from doing many things on the computer and if I write so much. I remember when I was in still college– my right hand got really tired from writing a lot. I hope this is just a Writer’s Cramp. Anyhow, we should always prevent ourselves from developing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Remember “An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.”
Themes
Well, I haven’t decided yet as to what themes I should use here. I always like three-column themes or templates. They just look neat to me. You can put more widgets on a three-column theme. I would try to ask my web hosting master (Mabelle hehe) to download more themes here later. By the way, if you were also looking for more WordPress themes, take a look at the Themescore and Topwpthemes. They have a huge selection of themes.
